Stephensons of Essex is holding a "bus running day" with a difference. Following the success of the first event, we will again be running special services in Southend and surrounding towns on January 1st, 2009, when no local bus services would otherwise be operating.

The following network will be run with heritage buses from our own fleet and from other operators (plus some modern low-floor buses too), with all profits donated to charity.  Buses scheduled (subject to availability) include Olympians from local fleets and further afield, a VR, RML, SRM, RT, RLH, Titans (PD3 and T), Trident, MPD Dart and an Astromega!

If you fancy doing something different on New Year's Day, why not take a trip back in time on our Heritage Bus Services, and perhaps visit Castle Point Transport Museum, which will be open specially on this day?  ... or catch the sales in Southend Town Centre or Fossetts Park ... or visit friends or relatives in Southend General Hospital ... there's no need to get the car out!
