| 24 Feb 2010 |
Following the success of the Third "Southend Heritage Bus Running Day" held on January 1st, 2010, Stephensons and bus industry partners Arriva Southend, Network Colchester, Talisman Coachlines and Hardy Miles donated their takings to support the work of the Essex Air Ambulance. Pictured are Air Ambulance volunteer fundraisers Arthur and Pamela Pooley receiving a cheque for £812 from Stephensons' Managing Director Bill Hiron and Matthew Evans from Arriva Southend.
The Running Day raised over £1,300 in total, with other charities benefitting being Cancer Research UK, Leukaemia Research, MacMillan Cancer Nurses, Help for Heroes and the Wickford War Memorial Association. The charities were selected by the drivers and companies who provided the vehicles and their time for free to run special bus services on a day when no other routes were operating.
